Toyota RAV4 Maintenance Schedule

Driving that new Toyota RAV4 off the lot for the first time is an exhilarating feeling—it probably feels like your new ride will last forever! Drivers near Nashville, Gallatin, and Madison know that to get the most out of their ride and extend its life for as long as possible, regularly schedule maintenance is crucial.

Our team at Ron Hibbard Toyota has prepared this Toyota RAV4 maintenance schedule to give you a brief overview of the manufacturer-recommended servicing your vehicle will need at specified intervals. At our dealer, we want to make auto maintenance a breeze for all our customers!

Every 5,000 Miles or 6 Months

When your RAV4 has been on the road for 5,000 miles or 6 months, whichever milestone you hit first, it’s time to schedule your first maintenance appointment. At this point, a certified technician should top off all your fluid levels (coolant, brake fluid, etc.), so you can rest assured that they won’t run low on your next outing in Nashville.

At your first scheduled servicing, you should have your tires rotated and brake systems visually checked, too. Keep in mind, these services aren’t a one-off deal: you should have them repeated every 5,000 miles or six months to ensure optimal performance.

Every 10,000 Miles or 12 Months

This maintenance appointment should look very similar to the one you had at the 5,000-mile (or 6-month) mark. You’ll want to have all the same parts serviced as you did then, but with one extra item: your engine oil and oil filter now need to be changed.

Engine oil keeps the metal parts inside your engine well lubricated, so they can work without grinding and causing friction and heat. Overheating your engine risks irreparable damage, so it’s important to have this service performed right on schedule.

Every 30,000 Miles or 36 Months

The time will eventually come when you’ve put 30,000 miles on the odometer of your RAV4. At this point, you’ll need to handle maintenance that’s a bit more involved. Your fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and vapor vent system hoses should all be examined for leaks, so your engine can run as optimally as possible.

Your automatic transmission should be checked for leaks, too. You’ll want to replace your cabin air filter at this time as well, to ensure you’re filtering only the cleanest, freshest air into the cabin of your RAV4.
