2018 Toyota Tundra Review

2018 Toyota Tundra in Midnight Black Metallic Are you looking for a new companion to help you get the job done in the Nashville, Gallatin, and Madison areas? Nothing works better than a hearty pickup truck. These beasts of engineering are capable of feats that other classes of car can only dream of, and that’s when you opt for the basic models.

You deserve far better than a basic model for a pickup, however, so consider the 2018 Toyota Tundra. This pickup exemplifies everything a truck should be able to offer and then some, thanks to its impressive capability and numerous features. Find out if the Tundra is the right option for you with our comprehensive review and contact our team at Ron Hibbard Toyota to learn more.

Capability

2018 Toyota Tundra Technology Package

The first thing anyone needs to know about a pickup truck is capability. When it comes to the Toyota Tundra, you won’t be disappointed. When properly equipped, this beast of a truck has a can tow up to 10,200 pounds. Even the payload capacity is impressive, as you’re able to fit up to 1,730 pounds in the bed of this truck.

Towing capacity doesn’t mean much if it’s too much of a hassle to connect a trailer. Thankfully, the Tundra features a 4-/7-pin connector integrated directly into the rear bumper. In addition, this truck offers a TOW/HAUL mode that fundamentally changes the way your truck drives, such as holding gears for longer and increasing throttle and braking response to optimize performance for towing.

Technology

People normally associate automotive tech with sedans and crossovers, but this Toyota truck offers more than its fair share as well. Some of the technology even works to augment its capability even further. With the trailer sway control, your Tundra will automatically apply appropriate brake pressure when necessary to ensure that you retain control of your trailer.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find the Entune® app suite infotainment system with available apps to enhance your driving experience like Pandora®, Yelp®, and more. Through this 7-inch touchscreen, you can also opt for an integrated navigation system, so you’ll never get lost again.

Performance

2018 Toyota Tundra Performance

Peek under the hood of this new truck, and you’ll find one of two incredible engines. The base i-FORCE 4.6L V8 engine offers an incredible 310 horsepower with 327 lb-ft of torque. If that’s not enough, you can upgrade to the i-FORCE 5.7L V8 which offers 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.

To help deal with all that raw power, the Tundra includes an automatic limited-slip differential standard on all models. The rear differential specifically features a massive ring gear measuring 10.5 inches in size, so you can always count on your torque being properly supported and controlled. As an added bonus, this Toyota model offers the largest brakes in its class, complete with 4-piston brake calipers, so you’ll have all the stopping power you need.
