The Tundra offers a range of V8 engines, all of which use a 6-speed automatic transmission to shuttle power to the rear or all four wheels. The base engine is a 381-horsepower 5.7L V8, but a 310-horsepower 4.6L is standard for higher trim levels. Properly equipped, the Tundra can tow up to 10,300 pounds.
This Toyota model has a cushiony, composed ride over pavement, as well as exceptional maneuverability for its size. On the highway, it maintains its body control and has the power necessary for passing and merging. For off-roading, the 2019 truck offers Fox shocks that cushion the ride even further and give it more capability on dirt roads, fields, or sand.
This year’s Tundra offers ample space for passengers and cargo in comfortable, supportive seats. CrewMax and Double Cab configurations are available, giving you the option of more interior space. A bench seat is standard for the lower trim levels, but bucket seats with a center console are available. There’s also an abundance of head- and legroom in both rows, ensuring your passengers will always be comfortable.
A 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, or 8.1-foot bed is available, depending on the cab configuration. These bed options are large enough to accommodate all your work or recreational needs, and there’s plenty of smaller storage space within the cabin.
The Toyota pickup can be equipped with many desirable features, such as a 6.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment, navigation, cooled seating, JBL® audio, and a tow package. The infotainment system is one of the best on the market, featuring an intuitive interface, sharp graphics, and a variety of entertainment and connectivity options.
Many advanced safety features are included as well, such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beams, and Adaptive Cruise Control. In most rivals, these options are expensive upgrades, but they’re included for all Tundra models. These features are not only helpful to have for regular driving situations, such as crowded traffic and highway driving, but they help to make off-roading and towing safer and more confident.
