Toyota Tacoma Specs
Toyota Tacoma Towing Capacity
The Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 pounds. To haul that kind of cargo, it runs on a 3.5L V6 engine that gets up to 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. It’s also available with a sporty 2.7L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. With this powertrain, it can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
To make sure you have a safe and stable drive, Trailer-Sway Control comes standard and keeps even your largest cargo in line with your truck. Hooking your trailer up is easy too. The Class-IV towing hitch receiver features a 4- and 7-pin connector. Plus, you can line up perfectly and back into place using the integrated backup camera.
For even more visibility, the available Panoramic View Monitor uses a series of cameras to create a 360-degree overhead view of your truck. Plus, you’ll know when it’s safe to change lanes thanks to the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
Toyota Tacoma Capability
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is also built to get through all sorts of driving conditions. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with an Automatic Limited-Slip Differential. However, 4WDemand part-time 4WD is available on every trim level.
Both options sit on a durable suspension. The Toyota Tacoma can also carry a payload of up to 1,620 pounds. There’s a standard deck rail system that makes it easy to tie your heavy cargo down, too.
You’ll be able to get your cargo up and over tough terrain. Hill Start Assist Control comes standard, while Crawl Control offers a more stable drive. Multi-terrain Select is also available and lets your truck adapt with five driving modes.
This pickup is also prepared for off-roading. A front skid plate comes standard, while its 9.4-inch ground clearance lets you go over rocks and through streams. Plus, the available TRD-tuned off-road suspension is available with either Bilstein® shocks or FOX® Internal Bypass shocks with remote reservoirs.
Toyota Tacoma Dimensions
The Toyota Tacoma is available in two cab sizes. The Access Cab has seating for four people with a sleek set of compact rear doors. There’s 42.9 inches of legroom up front and 24.6 inches of legroom in the back row. Behind that, the trunk bed runs 73.7 inches long.
The Double Cab offers more space and seating for up to five people. The front seats have identical dimensions to the Access Cab, but the back gives passengers more room to stretch out with 32.6 inches of legroom. They’ll also have an easier time getting in with a set of full-size rear doors.
The Double Cab also offers two truck beds to choose from. The standard bed runs 60.5 inches long, while the long bed has the same 73.7-inch length as the Access Cab.
